Forgot Password?

Go to myid.usu.edu, enter your A-Number, and answer the security challenge questions you set up when you first created your password.

You may also contact the IT Service Desk at 435-797-HELP (4357) to have your password reset. The Service Desk will verify your identity over the phone by asking you the security challenge questions you set up when you first created your password.

Change Password

Go to myid.usu.edu and login with your A-Number and current password. Review and/or change your security challenge questions and your preferred email address. You will then be directed to change your password.

Passwords expire once a year. You will be sent an email notification before your password expires to remind you to change it. If your password expires before you change it, you will not be able to login to University systems, such as Banner/Access, Exchange, and Aggiemail, but you can still login to the USU ID system with your A-Number and expired password to set your new password.

Create Initial Password

Go to myid.usu.edu to create your initial password. You may only create a password to login after you have been assigned an A-Number (University ID). Your password will allow you access to login to your student account, to pay your tuition, create a USU email account, and several other USU systems.

After you create your password, you will be prompted to create security challenge questions that will assist you in recovering or resetting your password if you forget it.

Password Not Working?

If your password was recently working and suddenly stopped working it is either expired or needs to be re-synched.

USU passwords expire every year. You should have received an email to your preferred email address (set in Banner) to remind you to change your password. If your password has expired, you may still login to the USU ID system to change your password at myid.usu.edu. You must answer the five security challenge questions you set up when you first created your password.

If your password has not yet expired but you are unable to login to the USU ID system, your account may be temporarily locked. To prevent password spoofing, the system automatically locks A-Number accounts for 15 minutes if the password is entered incorrectly three times in 30 seconds. If you think this might be a reason you cannot login, wait 15 minutes and try again.
