OU Campus Updates

IT launched a new website with information about the new FREE USU templates. The first two of these templates are available today inside of OU Campus. Visit https://templates.usu.edu/ to learn more and request one for your USU site today.
This month the new Information Security Office launched their on site the Big Blue USU Template - http://iso.usu.edu/ and Extension also launched their main site on the new Extension template inside of OU Campus - https://extension.usu.edu/.

All the talk about the new content management system, OU Campus, is now becoming a reality. Several large organizations on campus that want to do “self-service” (want full control over their users, their website design, and their website development without involving central IT) have been given access to OU Campus to begin developing their websites.
IT-PAD will start migrating over other sites by the end of October. Sites will be transferred over according to their impact on the university. There are three different options to choose from when bringing your website over:
- Choose one of the three FREE USU templates
- Migrate the content and template over for FREE
- Take the transition as an opportunity to create a new design
If you would like to be brought over sooner rather than later, please contact the IT-PAD team, and we will put your name on the migration list. Your website would be one of the first to be brought over within your impact group.

OU Campus training for IT-PAD has taken place and has given the PAD team a good foundation to move forward. The Extension sites are currently in the process of being migrated over to OU Campus. After they are complete, we will begin migrating other sites. Migration priority will be given to sites who have a wider spread or effect a larger amount of people.
Make sure to take a look at the free templates we have made. They will become available at the end of October. Refer to the OU Campus FAQ page if you have any questions.

I am excited to let you know OmniUpdate (with a few minor exceptions) has completed the template given to them. Training has been scheduled with OmniUpdate and will be taking place shortly. There will be more exciting news in the near future.

I would like to apologize that it has been nearly a month since I last sent out an update about the new CMS. In that time OmniUpdate has made good progress on building out the template. We will be meeting with them next week to go over some final items.

We had a call with OmniUpdate to clarify some questions regarding technical specifications of the template they will be developing for USU. The systems that will be utilized on campus with OU Campus should be finalized by the end of next week. A big "Thank You" goes to the system administrators working to get the various systems and security integrations in place.

We continue to work through the implementation checklist with OmniUpdate. Information about the template to be built by OmniUpdate for USU will be sent to shortly. We are happy with the progress which has been made so far and are excited to continue working to get OU Campus ready for USU.

After input from the campus community and careful consideration, OmniUpdate OU Campus has been selected as the Web Content Management system for campus. We are currently working with the vendor to get the system up and operational and key personnel trained. Once these two items are accomplished we will have a better perspective and will be ready to start working with individual colleges and departments on migration strategy, timing, and training. Please note that ezPlug will continue to be available for the foreseeable future. We look forward to working with all of you on this endeavor and we really appreciate the time you took to test out the systems we were evaluating and provide us with valuable feedback.
